If you’re one of those people who have had the misfortune of meeting someone who has told you to be realistic with your ambition, then read the title again.
When you’re down the last thing you need is for someone to tell you to be realistic when in fact, what they mean is stop pursuing your dreams and become complacent with something you won’t enjoy. I was young when I decided to enter the legal world, I had no guidance. Facing countless rejections was soul destroying – but you build your character and pick yourself up and carry on. The passion and determination set you apart, I can’t stress this enough – you set your own limits. Grades on a paper don’t define your ability and people’s opinions don’t define you. I know how it feels like to be on the receiving end of both of those and I am glad that I did not let them define me or my career. You won’t achieve your dreams until you have proven your worth. Set your own limits and achieve what you set out to achieve. I am living proof – go out and grab every opportunity that comes your way.
“Do not let your difficulties fill you with anxiety, after all it is only in the darkest nights that stars shine more brightly.” – Ali Ibn Abu-Talib A.S
